Pediatric Hematology and Oncology

The department of pediatric hematology and oncology is one of the leading Belgian centers specialized in the management of childhood blood diseases and cancers. The diseases treated in the department are blood and coagulation disorders, malignant diseases (cancers), immune deficiencies (hereditary or acquired), rheumatoid and autoimmune diseases and HIV and AIDS infections.

The department offers a multidisciplinary approach to these diseases and is focused on helping the sick child and their family as a whole unit. In addition to advanced medical, surgical or radiation therapy treatments, psychological, social and educational support is also offered to young patients and their families.
